Well, if you haven’t heard by now, I’m soon going to be Mama Dee. In August, fingers crossed, we’ll be adding a new little deelinquent to our big family. So this Friday will be our last gig in Gloucester for a while, and we sure hope you’ll join us. Our love for Gloucester is no mystery – and it ain’t just the scallops. Folks in Gloucester have the most fun at gigs – and if you don’t believe me, just check it out for yourself!

In an unfortunate turn, we regretfully will not be participating in the Rumble Semi-Finals this Friday night, due to a pre-existing conflict with a gig that was booked in the fall of 2010 for the very same night (Friday, April 15th).

Even though the Semi-Finals are being held both Thursday night (the 14th) and Friday night (the 15th), The Rumble decided they could not accommodate Jenny Dee in the Thursday night Semi-Final because of certain rules pertaining to the event.

Rather than cancel a gig last minute, we have decided to withdraw from The Rumble. As much as we would have loved to kick John Powhida’s ass, we’ll let someone else do the honors. Some people are winners, and some people like fried scallops.

We will be playing the long-planned Opening Night at Captain Carlo’s in Gloucester on Friday night starting at 9pm.

The Dees will face some stiff competition in the Semifinals from Night #2 Winner Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys and from Night #3 Winner The John Powhida International Airport.

The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, The Boston Phoenix, and Boston Band Crush have been covering the each night of The Rumble, and you can read their picks for the Semifinals which will be held next Thursday and Friday (April 14^th and 15^th) at T.T.’s.  Stay tuned for set times!  And just in time for the Semifinals, check out Sara Brown’s profile of The Deelinquents in this month’s Performer Magazine.
